I use communicative approach. You learn writing and speaking at the same time.
I personally believe that engagement means the amount of time a student spend working in the class assigments and the creativity and interest invested on such activity. In other hand, par of the instructor Works includes the to provide directions in a proper and timely manner and effective online interaction and reminders of further comming activities of the class. As much as the instructor mantain adequate online contact with the student, the better the motivation over the class.
