About Paola

My Professional Commitment to your Family:
Choosing a tutor is a major decision for your child’s future. To ensure you have absolute peace of mind, my practice is built on strict pillars of professionalism:
*Verified Local Trust- As an active NISD educator, I maintain a fully cleared, state-mandated background check and fingerprinting profile. You are working with a trusted professional, already fully vetted by your local school system.
*Direct Teacher Collaboration- Beyond aligning lessons with school curriculum, I am fully available to communicate directly with your child’s teacher, with provided parental approval. This ensures our tutoring sessions perfectly mirror and reinforce what they are learning in class.
*Decades of Proven Results- My 40-year career spanning international borders means I don’t just know the subject matter-I know how children actually learn. I adapt my teaching strategies to every unique learning style.
*Structured Communication- I treat every tutoring relationship with professionalism. This means punctual start times and prompt end times, providing organized lessons, and giving consistent progress updates.
*Students Safety First- To maintain the highest standard of safety, transparency and comfort for everyone involved, I strictly require a parent or responsible adult to be present in the house for the entire duration of our tutoring sessions.

About the lesson

Hello! My name is Paola Buerba, and I am an expert and passionate bilingual educator who has been tutoring Spanish language skills across both Mexico and USA since 1986. In addition to my decades of private tutoring, I am an active Substitute Teacher and Bilingual Tutor for the Northside Independent School District (NISD) where I have proudly served local San Antonio students since 2014.
With over a decade of experience working in dual-language and bilingual classrooms, I understand exactly what students need to succeed. I offer personalized, in-person, 1-on-1 lessons tailored to your child’s school curriculum, and homework needs - all from the comfort of your home. I focus primarily on supporting elementary school students to build strong foundations, but I am also equipped to guide middle school students as they transition into more advanced Spanish schoolwork.
*Format: In person, 1-on-1 (at your house)
*Experience: Tutoring Spanish language skills since 1986
*Target Students: Young learners and middle schoolers
*Focus: Homework help, speaking, reading and writing confidence
*Rate: $120/hour
