About Romain
Hello, I am Romain, a language enthusiast and educator with extensive experience teaching at international schools in China. I've had the privilege of teaching students of all ages, from toddlers in kindergarten to seniors learning for leisure, including unmotivated teenagers. As the author of "Arrêtez d'apprendre l'argot - Les 5 niveaux du langage familier", I believe that mastering a language goes beyond academic knowledge. My teaching philosophy is based on coaching principles. An hour of individual coaching with me is a personalized and intensive experience designed to target your specific French language needs and boost your self-confidence. Here's what you can expect during a typical session:
Before the Session
Personalized Preparation: Before our meeting, I will send you a short questionnaire or request information to understand your current goals and the specific challenges you are facing. This allows me to prepare customized materials and exercises that will be most beneficial for you.
During the Session
Review and Warm-up (10 minutes): We start with a brief review of your progress since the last session, discussing what has worked well and areas needing more attention. A linguistic warm-up to relax your mind and prepare your French for action.
Main Coaching Activity (35 minutes): This part is the core of our session. Depending on your needs, this could include pronunciation exercises, conversation simulations to improve your fluency, role-playing based on real scenarios (such as job interviews, negotiations, or social interactions), or text analysis to refine your understanding and expression.
Constructive Feedback (10 minutes): You will receive immediate and constructive feedback on your performance during the exercises. I will use a positive approach to reinforce what you are doing well and provide practical advice for improving less mastered aspects.
Planning and Homework (5 minutes): To conclude, we will set clear goals for the next session together, and I will assign personalized homework. This homework might include practice audio recordings, specific readings, or writing exercises.
After the Session
Follow-up: After our session, I will remain available via email or messaging to answer any questions or provide additional encouragement. I am here to support you throughout your French learning journey.
