About Carmela

I'm an Italian linguist and language teacher who has lived and worked across Italy, Spain, and the UK, so I know first-hand what it takes to learn a language and make it your own. Languages are my passion — I hold an MA in Specialised Translation and speak Italian, English, Spanish, and a bit of French.
Outside of teaching, I love staying active with gym, yoga, and pilates, and I'm always planning my next trip — travelling is one of my favourite ways to discover new cultures and languages.
What I love most about teaching is the moment something clicks and a learner starts thinking in Italian instead of translating in their head. I'm warm, patient, and would love to help you get there.

About the lesson

As a native Italian speaker and CELTA-qualified language teacher, I build each lesson around your goals — everyday conversation, grammar, pronunciation, or exam prep. My approach is communicative and practical: you speak from the very first lesson, with grammar explained clearly and in context.
With a linguistics background (MA in Specialised Translation) and experience teaching English, I keep sessions engaging and fully tailored to you. I'm patient, encouraging, and happy to explain in English whenever it helps.
Lessons run from 60 to 90 minutes. I teach teenagers (10–18) and adults (18+), at all levels — from total beginners to advanced speakers polishing their fluency.

I really like your non-traditional teaching method. When I started, I was around an A2-B1 level and had very little confidence speaking English. Thanks to your lessons, I’ve improved to a B2 level and now I’m able to have real conversations without constantly worrying about making mistakes.
