About Licia

Im an experienced, qualified, native Italian tutor / teacher with:

- a Bachelor Degree in Modern Languages
- a Master Degree in Interpreting and Translation at UNINT University, Rome, Italy

I have been teaching Italian one-to-one and to small groups at all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced), different ages and nationalities, for many years.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed around one simple idea: you learn Italian by using it, not just by studying it. From the very first lesson, we'll focus on practical, natural Italian that you can use in real-life situations — introducing yourself, ordering at a restaurant, travelling, making conversation or simply chatting with more confidence. A typical 60-minute lesson combines relaxed conversation, useful vocabulary and expressions, listening practice, a real-life speaking activity or role-play, and a little insight into Italian culture and the way Italians actually communicate. Grammar is introduced naturally and in context, when it helps you express what you want to say, rather than being the starting point of every lesson. Between sessions, I'll encourage you to bring Italian into your everyday life through small, enjoyable activities such as watching an Italian film or series, listening to music, exploring a recipe or practising a short conversation — no endless homework! Lessons are friendly, supportive and adapted to your level, interests and goals. You can follow my structured 6-week Italian for Real Life starter programme, continue with further classes afterwards, or choose individual lessons and a completely tailored programme if you're learning for a particular trip, relationship, relocation or personal goal. Most importantly, you don't need to speak perfectly: my aim is to help you stop being afraid of making mistakes and start enjoying speaking Italian.
