Pilar is an amazing Spanish teacher. With just a few classes already, my Spanish has improved immensely. I love how she runs her classes and customizes them based on your needs. She does such a great job at combining different types of teaching tactics to make sure you get a well-rounded education. She uses a mix of textbooks to help teach grammar and subject matter, as well as a lot of emphasis on speaking which is my favorite, and she always reviews any sort of mistakes you made during the class to further drill in the learnings. I also really love how she's super flexible and understanding of my crazy schedule. She never takes anything personally and makes herself available when I'm available and ready to take my next class. I HIGHLY recommend her and am so happy to have found her.

Je prends des cours d'espagnol depuis 4 ans avec Pilar et je souhaitais faire une recommandation compte tenu de la qualité du travail réalisé. J'ai souhaité apprendre l'Espagnol pour des raisons personnelles et pour découvrir les pays d’Amérique du Sud. J’ai découvert ainsi le Pérou, la Bolivie et le Chili et surtout l’Argentine qui est un pays magnifique. Le travail fait avec Pilar est très intéressant et je suis très satisfait de la façon dont les cours sont organisés : ponctualité des rencontres, prises de rendez-vous respectés, horaires disponibles. J’apprécie la préparation des cours avec l’envoi de documents de préparation, ainsi que les corrections qui sont proposées à chaque fin de session. C’est de plus un travail agréable réalisé avec Pilar dans une ambiance décontractée et chaleureuse. Je recommande donc fortement toute collaboration avec Pilar.

She is a great teacher - highly organized lesson plans, provides materials for the class and for practice, and speaks fluent English for more nuanced explanations.

I've been working with Pilar for a few months and it’s been a great experience. She has a thorough knowledge of both English and Spanish grammar, spelling, and syntax; and she fully understands how best to convey this knowledge to a student. Even more important for me is that she is incredibly patient. I'm a slow learner and have lots of questions--while she will give a push when necessary, she’s always ready to slow down and explain something if I'm not quite getting there. I tried Duolingo but felt I needed an actual teacher to interact with. I was correct—I can’t imagine a better learning experience!
