About Riri

Born and raised in Japan, and Japanese is my native language. I also lived in the United States for five years, so I speak English and understand what it feels like to learn and live in another language.

This means you can learn authentic, natural Japanese from a native speaker—without feeling lost when something is difficult to understand. I can explain grammar, expressions, and cultural differences clearly in English.

In my lessons, you will learn more than textbook Japanese. I will teach you how Japanese people actually speak, including natural phrases, pronunciation, tone, and the subtle differences that can completely change how a sentence sounds.

You do not need to worry about making mistakes. My lessons are friendly, relaxed, and personalized to your level and goals. We can focus on daily conversation, travel, living in Japan, relationships, work, business, or any situation where you want to communicate more confidently.

From my experiences of being international consultant in Japan, I also worked closely with people from different countries. I understand the communication challenges foreigners face and can help you understand not only what to say, but also why Japanese people communicate the way they do.

Whether you are a complete beginner or already speak some Japanese, I will help you sound more natural, understand Japanese more deeply, and feel confident using it in real life.

About the lesson

Have you studied Japanese before but still feel nervous when it’s time to actually speak?

You’re not alone. Many learners know grammar and vocabulary, but struggle to understand natural Japanese or respond confidently in real conversations.

In my lessons, we focus on Japanese you can actually use — for daily life, travel, work, friendships, dating, and living in Japan.

I will explain everything clearly in English when needed, so you never have to feel lost or embarrassed. You can ask questions freely, make mistakes, and learn at your own pace.

Each lesson is personalized around your goals. We can practice conversation, pronunciation, grammar, natural expressions, or specific situations you are preparing for.

As a business owner and international consultant based in Japan, I also understand the cultural differences and communication challenges foreigners often face here.

My goal is simple: to help you feel more confident, natural, and comfortable speaking Japanese.

She is also a native of Japan which helps customize a perfect lesson plan for any situation, for example I am needing to learn Japanese in a business sense for work so my lessons are centered around proper business etiquette/communication.
