About Becca
My name is Becca. I'm a native English speaker with fluency in Spanish, French and Portuguese. I have over 10 years of teaching experience. This year, I've returned to teaching after several years using my language skills in technology companies around the world. I am a huge advocate for language learning, and for this reason, I have a very personal and unique approach to teaching foreign languages.

I place a strong emphasis on speaking practice in order to build confidence and a natural relationship with the target language. This approach has many benefits. In every session, students actively listen to and use Spanish, responding to questions and asking their own. This encourages them to engage more deeply with the lesson, looking up and learning the relevant vocabulary and grammar in order to participate effectively and confidently. Lessons follow the topics, vocabulary and grammar required by the school curriculum and I supplement this with material from current affairs, film, culture and more. My approach is interactive - similar to the way languages are acquired in bilingual environments. Each week, students are given clear vocabulary and grammatical goals, with structured opportunities to practise and master them during our lessons.
