About Elinor
Over the past 4 years, I have worked with students who want more than conversational French—they seek mastery of its literary and philosophical traditions. My Bachelor of Science in Foreign Language Education (French) equips me to guide them through complex academic challenges. I specialize in helping learners prepare for university-level French literature and critical theory assessments. Lessons are structured around close reading, detailed analysis, and academic writing. We examine texts in their historical and cultural context, identifying the movements that shaped them. Critical theory is woven throughout, providing new lenses through which to interpret literature. I teach advanced essay writing with an emphasis on clarity, coherence, and argumentative strength. Students also learn research techniques to support scholarly work. I maintain a balance between academic rigor and encouragement, so students feel both challenged and supported. By the end of our time together, you will have the skills to engage with French intellectual culture at the highest level. My mission is to help you think, write, and speak like a scholar.

My approach makes learning French for technology simple and fun. We focus on the words and phrases you need to talk about your phone, computer, or favorite app. Lessons include rapid-fire vocabulary games and practical speaking drills. You’ll practice asking for tech help, recommending gadgets, and discussing online services. For Immigrant/Newcomer learners, I keep lessons real-world focused so you can use them right away. For Academic/Linguist students, I add formal expressions and deeper topics. Role-playing is key—we act out scenarios like explaining a device to someone or troubleshooting a problem. Grammar is woven into the conversation so it feels natural. Pronunciation is corrected gently, helping you sound clear and confident. Mistakes are part of the journey, and we use them to make progress. My goal is to make you fluent in tech-related French without feeling overwhelmed. Soon, you’ll be able to talk about your devices like it’s second nature.
