About Michael
I have worked with students one on one and in small groups for several years from one grade level to the next, helping them improve their reading comprehension, writing, math skills, and prepare them for standardized tests. I’m comfortable doing informal assessments to identify gaps, building individualized plans around what each student actually needs, and adjusting my approach on the fly based on how they respond. I’ve worked with students who need patient foundational support, and students who are capable but need structure and strategy to meet their academic goals, and I know those require very different approaches. Whatever the goal, I’m committed to help your student make real progress.

My current work in special education has shaped the way I tutor math: I meet students where they are, identify where confusion is happening, and break problems into clear, manageable steps. I also bring years of tutoring experience, so I’m comfortable supporting students with different skill levels, learning styles, and confidence levels. In math, I focus on helping students understand the process rather than just memorizing answers. My lessons are patient, structured, and practical, with an emphasis on building both problem-solving skills and confidence.
