About Charlene
I believe each student has strengths that can be the building blocks to a more productive and successful experience in the classroom and also transfer to their daily life to improve self-esteem, organizational and social skills.
In the 46 years I have been teaching, I have taught every academic subject and am a reading specialist. I also have been a life skills and work-study coordinator and have run many social skills groups.
I may have taught hundreds of students over the years, but I am so grateful for all the lessons each and every one of my students have taught to me. I am very blessed to have been a part of their lives.

I have 46 years of teaching experience with students ages 4-21. I specialize in working with students with special needs. I design plans that are tailored to support each student's unique learning style. I offer behavioral tools that assist students with ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, as well as other behavioral and learning challenges and address executive functioning skills. I use a multisensory approach, including breathing and mindfulness exercises to enhance learning and give students the tools they need to build their self-confidence. These skills can be used in the classroom as well as in daily lives.
