About Estevan
I am currently an MA candidate in Arabic at Middlebury College specializing in teaching Arabic as a foreign language . I have taught and studied in Morocco, Jordan, and Oman through the following State Department programs: Critical Language Scholarship, Benjamin A. Gilman, Fulbright, and the Center for Arabic Study Abroad. Teaching Arabic is a passion that is tied to my experience learning the language as a non-native speaker who has become fluent in Modern Standard Arabic, Moroccan, and Levantine dialects. I believe language acquisition should be focused on communication and materials that reflect the reality of the language. This includes reading and writing in Arabic dialects as social media in the Arab world has become a centerpiece of social life. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

All learning material and instruction is specified to your individualized goals. I base my teaching on the most recent methods and theories related to second language acquisition. I teach writing, reading, listening, and speaking in Standard Arabic, Moroccan, and Levantine dialects. I use a wide variety of technological applications to teach, such as: Zoom, Whatsapp, Instagram, YouTube, Padlet, AnkiApp, and others. I design all homework assignments, learning material, and provider regular feedback through written and audio commentary.
