About Shu-Chuan

"I am not just a tutor; I am a parent who has walked this path." My journey into tutoring began at home. I walked alongside my son through his entire high school physics journey, from his very first lesson to his final exams. I saw his initial struggles, felt his frustration when things didn't click, and ultimately witnessed his growth and success as he mastered the curriculum. This experience gave me a unique advantage: I understand the Alberta Program of Study deeply from a practical, "in-the-trenches" perspective. I know where students get lost and why. My goal is to help other students who are like my son—hardworking and dedicated, but simply needing a different approach to unlock their potential. I want to help your child achieve the goals they’ve set for themselves. Physics shouldn't be a barrier to their dreams; it should be a stepping stone.

About the lesson

Physics 20 is a critical turning point in the Alberta high school curriculum. Many students who excelled in Science 10 find themselves overwhelmed by the sudden jump in difficulty—especially with 2D Vectors and Dynamics.

My teaching philosophy is built on the belief that effective tutoring starts with understanding exactly where a student is confused. I focus on:

Clarifying Misconceptions: Identifying the specific "stumbling blocks" and explaining abstract concepts in a way that actually makes sense.

Building a Strong Foundation: Physics 20 is the bedrock for Physics 30 and university-level science. I ensure students grasp the core principles (like Free-Body Diagrams) instead of just memorizing formulas.

Restoring Confidence: By breaking down complex problems into manageable steps, I help students regain a sense of control and discover that physics can actually be an interesting and rewarding subject.
