About Avery
I am passionate and knowledgable about how children learn to read and write as well as strategies to assist in the areas where they are weak. I love working with children and currently am a Speech Language Pathologist at an elementary school. I believe children learn best while having fun and exploring their natural interests.

I have taken master's level courses in children's literacy development, and use a wholistic approach when teaching reading and writing. This means looking at the child as a whole and using their natural strengths and interests to guide their literacy development. I do not use the same lessons for each child, it is individualized to fit their needs. I have experience tutoring children with special needs as well.
