About Sri

About Srimalli

Srimalli is an aspiring young Bharatanatyam dancer trained at Isha Samskriti over twelve years. She has undergone basic training in Yoga, Carnatic music, Bharatanatyam, Kalaripayattu (an ancient martial art form Kerala) at Isha Samskriti. Isha Samskriti is an alternative education system envisioned by Sadhguru, who is a mystic, yogi visionary and a master of our times.

During her time in samskriti,she has performed at dance festivals like the Natyanjali Festival in Chidambaram, kumbakonam,karur and thiruvarur. Also she has the privilege to perform in the Shanmughananda Sabha Dance Festival, Yaksha festival 2021 at Isha Yoga Centre, Navarathri festival 2022 at Isha Yoga Centre ,the Sangeet Natak Akademi, Zee TV (kannada) and many other prestigious avenues. During her course at Isha Samskriti she has also been a part of the inhouse productions like Kumarasambhavam, Bhakthi, Leela,
Meenakshi Thirukalyanam, Vande Mataram and the annual Mahashivarathri festival from the year 2018, all the productions were conceptualized and choreographed by her teacher Smt Divya Nayar.

She also had the opportunity to take part in one of the stretchs of the save soil movement. Which was an international event where Sadhguru drove 30,000 km on a bike to raise awareness about the degradation of the soil. She had the privilege to travel and perfom along Sadhguru’s journey from middle east to India.

She is currently training under her teacher, dancer-choreographer Smt Divya Nayar (Deciple of shri Shijith Krishna). Divya Nayar is a passionate teacher who has nurtured Srimalli to be the person she is today. Learning under her for more than six years, Srimalli has developed a keen grasping skill that helps her understand and learn the choreography in a short span of time.

During her education at Isha Samskriti, she has had the opportunity to interact and learn from senior artists such as Smt Rama Vaidyanathan, Smt Bragha Bassell, Smt Leela Samson, Smt Meenakshi Chitranjan and Smt Sonal Mansingh to name a few.

Other than performing Srimalli finds great joy in sharing her dance to young students. She inspires young students to love dance like she does. She has been teaching for over six years now.

Along with her training in dance, Srimalli has also trained in Carnatic music and has sung at various music festivals such as the Mummorthy Aradhana in Thiruvarur, Muthuswami Dikshitar aradhana in Coimbatore. She also won the 2nd prize for the competition conducted by Shanmukhananda sabha (Mumbai).

Passionate about tamil and samskritam literature and poetry, Srimalli loves to read and explore ancient poems.She derives a lot of inspiration from these literary works which help her with expressing creative aspects while dancing. She has read Meenakshi Pillai Tamil written by kumaraguruparar and Kalidasa's Shankunthalam.

If you don't find Srimalli dancing or singing she will either be binge watching on some ott platform or chatting away with friends or planning for some far away excursions or dreaming about achieving impossible things.

About the lesson

In the class you will be learning basics which will give you a strong foundation. Devarams,vachanas and other bhajans will be interspersed in the class. The classes will be taken at the pace of the student. I assure you everyone who applies are going to be satisfied.
