About Ava
I recently graduated with a degree in Economics from Stanford University and have completed coursework in Chemistry, Biology, and Advanced Math. I love teaching and helping students grasp concepts they previously struggled with. I have years of experience helping my younger siblings with homework and exam preparation at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. I have successfully helped my siblings and classmates improve their grades in school. I am experienced in teaching Math and Science, including Algebra, Pre-Calc, Calc AB, Chemistry, Biology, and Economics.

My teaching style is patient, compassionate, and student-led, with a focus on helping students develop their own problem-solving skills. I guide learning by asking simple, direct, and specific questions, encouraging students to arrive at answers on their own. This approach not only fosters critical thinking but also helps identify specific gaps in understanding, which we work through together. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, tackling challenges, and gaining confidence in their abilities.
Lessons are tailored to the individual needs of the student. I begin by setting clear goals at the start of each session and recap the lesson takeaways as each goal is met and again at the end of the session.
