About Xinyu

I am Jerry; my Chinese name is Xinyu Ma. I learned Go when I was 6. I got addicted to the game; it was so interesting to me. It is really a mind game. Then, by and by, this game taught me a lot; it taught me about resilience. When you are losing, you don't give up; when you are winning, don't be cocky. The game is tough. After I achieved 4 dan at 12, I then spent another 3 years trying to get 5 dan but failed. Yes, you will meet people who are smarter than you in a game, and then you will remind yourself that your weapon is resilience and a tough mindset for them.

About the lesson

I studied Go in Xi'an, China, at a local Go school I know what the real Go game looks like and know how intense and competitive it is. I'll bring the real path to my students who have a passion for this game. In my lessons, I will build students' foundation first, no matter how good they are, then teach them some advanced skills. But at the end of the day, this game is all about fundamentals and calculations.
