About April
I am a native speaker of English, originally from California, and I love working with artists from all over the world, with any level of experience, to pursue their artistic and creative goals. I am an experienced New York City and NY State certified art teacher with a master's degree in art education and a bachelor's degree in fine art. Art history is one of my specialties and I like to include discussion of art history in my drawing and painting lessons.

Even one lesson can get you started or perhaps re-motivated to continue practicing your art. Students learn from my demonstrations, explanations, and slide images. The student chooses the medium for the lesson: watercolor, acrylics, oils, pen and ink, pencil, charcoal, pastel, etc.
