Lessons are provided for middle and high school students who are struggling with grasping concepts, or who want to explore their chosen topic in greater depth.
Sessions are dependent upon each student's individual needs and goals, so differentiated instruction is offered in order to customize his/her learning experience with me.
I am a fair, logical, calm, and observant teacher, as well as extending all my students the utmost courtesy, respect, and care.
I have taught in the central Arkansas public school district for six years now, with so many students, I have lost count.
I have been fortunate to work with students struggling with the material. They, with my encouragement, went on to make C's in class, that I then treated them as if they had won the Congressional Medal of Honor.
I have also worked with some of the very brightest students, whom I have pushed beyond their regular intellectual limits, and then thrived on the high expectations I had for them. Those students would typically go on to make A's in my class. However, if they begin being sloppy with their work, I've reminded them of their unique gifts, which encourage me to hold them to such high expectations, and that anything less than their very best is a waste of my time and theirs.
My goal as an educator is to help students realize their potential, and then work hard to achieve it.

Cody helped inspire my desire for learning, mathematics specifically. The way he taught me to think about math has carried on to my college career. The culture of success he established in the classroom taught me how to be a successful student, and has benefitted me tremendously in my undergraduate career at the University of Arkansas. Cody is an engaging teacher who knows how to reach students who are struggling and knows how to push a good student to be an exceptional one.
Mr. Cody was my 9th grade Algebra II teacher at North Little Rock High School. Even though it was five years ago, I still have such vivid memories of his class, because he was so engaging and made math more interesting than any other teacher had before. Instead of just preaching the content, he lead students through the material so that we could arrive to conclusions ourselves. I felt that I had "Aha!" moments nearly every day in his classroom. He was also just a very fun person – I loved interacting with him and getting to know him outside of math. As a sophomore at Princeton, I can still say that Mr. Cody was one of my favorite teachers.
