ANYONE CAN SUCCEED IN MATH! - but you must do the work. I provide students with the mathematical weapons of mass destruction for success on tests.

THERE ARE NO STUPID QUESTIONS! - the "dumber" the question, the better. They are the precise ones that must and need to be asked.

MISTAKES ARE OUR FRIENDS! - the only way to turn out A's in math is to do problems. The more difficult, the better. I have math problem banks for all basic high school and college math courses through calculus.

I administer different session types: Remedial Learning, Concept Establishment, Challenge Problem Solving, Test Preparation. Session type descriptions follow

Remedial Learning session – gain competency on past missed work:
a. Objective: learn missed content.
b. This type session requires a 1-week pre-submission of past tests/quizzes/homework
student from class
c. If needed, 1-week pre-submitted form for information release to speak with teacher.
d. I go through missed problems/tests/homework questions together. Concept
explanations using manipulatives and video features employed throughout session.

Concept Establishment session - lesson with repetition of concepts:
a. Objective: concept comprehension via application.
b. I will explain the concept (using manipulatives and video features if possible).
c. Together we will do simple straight forward problems.
d. I will time for explanatory "asides" when I see reticence doing a step or computation.
e. Gradually I will decrease my support to see your ability to complete straight forward
problems (in preparation for following sessions).

Challenge Problem Solving session - multi-part, harder, tricky problems:
a. Objective: skill building for honors/AP/undergrad math coursework
b. Together we will do harder problems, tricky, and multi-part problems.
c. I will review any necessary equations or concepts as needed.

Test Preparation session - noticing math shortcuts on problems:
a. Objective: test preparation
b. I will dedicate a session to noticing shortcuts and time saving strategies.
c. Given after a Challenge Problem Solving session.
d. Often requires a 1-week pre-submission of exam type information or a
release of info form from parents for me to speak with teachers. (This is the only way I
can review very likely test questions short of a Challenge Problem Solving session.)

I specialize in progressively building confidence so the student can perform best on exams.
I aim to progressively teach my faithful students how to teach themselves.
I respect school code integrity for homework assignments not yet submitted.

Details

I provide lots of out of session planning:
** I take a great amount of time outside of sessions to provide appropriated and
individualized tutoring content for sessions to make sure my students succeed.
** I provide digital rewards and games which require setup, paid training and subscriptions
to employ.
** If I have to speak with teachers or professors (after release of info. form signed) this takes
extra time which I am willing to expend if needed because I seriously invest in my
students.
** I have expensive teaching aids including an iPad, Apple Pencil for my students to use
for in-person sessions.
**I am already a teacher with completed undergraduate and graduate degrees
** My ONLY career occupation is tutoring and teaching math; I work hard to meet the individualized needs of each student I take on.

I have established my hourly rate competitively based on standard rates for someone:
* Who has taught and tutored in the past.
* I am presently a high school math teacher.
* Has years of industry experience in research analysis.
* Graduate degrees from competitive schools with rigorous math course offerings.
* I am a mother myself of 3 high school through college aged children for which I
homeschooled for a short time.
* I have a vast history of tutoring and teaching experience throughout my life I provided on a
paid and as a volunteer basis.
* I am Montessori CGS-USA certified teacher for Levels 1, 2, 3 aged children.
