About Leslie
I was a Senior Pension Consulting Actuary for 22 years, I have worked with Union Plans most of my career. My greatest compliment is my ability to translate my results for my audience to understand. I retired to become a Financial Advisor and Portfolio Manager in early 2008, because I saw the signs for another major crash which would halt the maintenance of most private plans. I learned how the stock market works and felt that my problem-solving skills would be of most use to reorganize, save for retirement, college savings, and estate planning. I have always enjoyed helping people. My philosophy is that we are all good at something, it may not be the same things, but that creates a learning opportunity from both sides. To my clients who would preface their questions as dumb or stupid, I would always say, the fact that you are asking the questions means that you really care, there are no dumb questions.

I provide alternatives to check your work. Have the ability to review students work to understand how they think and provide guidance to avoid any pitfalls. Best results if I have access to the same study materials. I use students curriculum either with homework or review for exams. I like to give examples for the uses of each concept in real life. I try to make it fun.

Leslie tutored me in Algebra and was an amazing teacher. She was patient and able to break things down in different ways so that I could understand them. Because of working with her I gained the foundational skills in Algebra that I needed to be successful throughout my math coursework.
