Long lectures are sometimes necessary to impart lessons, but I believe students are smart, dedicated individuals that can learn a lot with just a little guidance. I want to encourage my students to solve problems on their own as much as possible before they ask for help. When they are confident in their own problem-solving abilities, they have no reason to fear math.

I have almost two years of experience tutoring mathematics to students. The lessons are aimed at students aged 12-18, with a focus on ACT math concepts, including pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. I like asking my students to solve an example problem before going into the specifics. In my experience, students are more inclined to learn not just when they have a specific problem to overcome, but also when they see themselves as the ones achieving that goal.
