About David
I am a thrid year PhD candidate in Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto, St George Campus with 10+ years of teaching experience.
I currently work on the exciting interdisciplinary field of astrostatistics, i.e., the intersection of astrophysics and stastistics.
I have published my work in top astrophysical journals, and will continue to publish papers in both astrophysics and applied statistics journals. I hope one day I will become a professor so that I can teach and conduct research about how we can use statistiscs to further our understanding of the Universe.
Aside from work, I love hiking, star gazing, watching movies and shows, playing video games, and anything STAR WARS!!
I am also a native Mandarin speaker.

My lessons are highly interactive and distilled from years of my teaching experiences from being a teaching assistant for undergrad courses tutorial and office hours. I will serve as a learning companion for you and help you work through any questions you have.
Instead of seeing myself as a teacher/tutor, I rather see myself as a friend who can help you acheive academically. My approach is a combination of lecturing and personal touch. I will provide skills and techniques that I myself gathered over the years and pass them to you. But I also love to put myself in your shoes to try and understand your struggles as I have done when I first started learning.
The lessons cover math/calculus/statistics courses from grade 9-12; year 1-2 math/calculus undergrad courses; year 1-3 statistics undergrad courses.
For undergrad students interested in applying for graduate school in STEM fields, I also provide help in setting up a strong application package. I am one of the few international students being admitted to PhD in Statistical Sciences department at UofT, and my experiences in grad school applications can be of great help to you.
