About Emmet

If you're struggling with statistics for your psychology or health science degree, I can help you understand it clearly and get through your assignments with confidence.

I’m a PhD-qualified neuropsychology researcher and lecturer at Trinity College Dublin, with several years of experience teaching advanced research methods.

I specialise in helping students who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start. I can support you with SPSS, R, and general statistical concepts, whether you're working on a dissertation, an assignment, or preparing for exams.

About the lesson

My approach is simple: break things down, make them manageable, and build your confidence step by step. Many of the students I work with feel anxious about statistics—I focus on explaining things in a clear, practical way so you actually understand what you're doing (not just memorising steps).

I can help with:
-Understanding key concepts (e.g., regression, ANOVA, etc.)
-Running analyses in SPSS or R
-Interpreting outputs
-Writing up results (APA style)

We are beginning with defining her research question, refining her very large dataset into something more manageable, and are now exploring demographic information and descriptive statistics before moving onto how we answer her research questions using statistical tests.

I worked with Emmet throughout two MSc programmes in Psychological Science and Organisational Psychology, mainly on the quantitative side of the programme.
