About Jenny
I am a mature, freelance academic writer, editor and tutor with a degree in economics from the University of Stellenbosch (2019). I edit mostly MBA dissertations. I have experience in one-to-one tutoring in Business Economics and Afrikaans at high school level (students from Paul Roos Gymnasium, Stellenbosch, as well as Bridge House, Franschhoek, respectively). I am currently completing an online course in teaching English as well. I come from a corporate insurance background and have worked for companies such as Mutual & Federal and Absa Life in the past.

I enjoy relevant and practical topics related to the field of economics, and believe in connecting economic theory with practical application and current world affairs (e.g., geopolitical developments around the globe that impact people's livelihoods and living standards). I strive to elicit students' interest in specific economic topics and to help them connect the dots between economic theory, economic history and economic policy, and how it impacts people's everyday lives. I aim to inspire curiosity and interest by using up-to-date online articles from trusted business related websites, newspapers, academic journals, etc.
It is important that students taking high school or university classes in economics pass the subject... and pass it well. Therefore, I explain more complex economic concepts thoroughly using material familiar to students (e.g. prescribed course book/manual) and aim to instill a culture of concentration, focus and out-of-class topical reading and research in the students I teach.
