I took conversational Japanese lessons with Hiromitsu in preparation for N3 exam and I can highly recommend him as a tutor! Hiromitsu always made sure to keep the conversation flowing, helping me practice talking about a variety of topics in Japanese and introducing useful vocabulary. He made sure to explain cultural and contextual nuances as well as tricky grammar points. I enjoyed that we could spend most of the lesson talking in Japanese only which immensely helped my speaking confidence

Me and my daughter have been working with Hiro for around a year now and we are both taught by him. My daughter is neurodiverse and she is so comfortable with Hiromitsu and looks forward to her weekly lessons. Hiromitsu is calm and very patient. Our lessons are always adapted to work around my daughter’s capabilities on the day as this can vary greatly, he never puts any pressure on her. We’ve learnt lots about Japanese culture as well as speaking, writing, reading and hearing Japanese. We would both highly recommend Hiro if you are looking for a wonderful Japanese tutor!!!!

During my time at Berkeley he was a great help in helping me solve and understand problems in my linear algebra and multivariable calculus courses. Not only did he help me visualize and conceptualize the problems so I can solve them on my own, but he came up with an unique approach that worked for me when studying new material outside of our sessions.
