About Thomas
Hello Future Student!
My name is Thomas and I am a 29-year-old college student. I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA. I attended Good Shepherd elementary school and Saint Francis High School in Watsonville. After high school, I joined the Air Force. From 2011 to January of 2021 I was an instructor and evaluator for my Special Warfare career field.
In January of 2021, I decided to get out of the military and chase my dream of becoming a surgeon. I am now a full-time student at Cabrillo College studying Biology. I have always had a passion for math and science. I want to pass on my algebra and geometry knowledge in a way that makes sense to you! I will work diligently to answer all your questions and do my best to ensure you understand the subjects.

First and foremost I believe in teaching and tutoring in a stress-free environment. I want the student the be able to make mistakes and learn from them. In my 10 years as an instructor in the USAF, I received hundreds of hours of instructional training. The most important thing I learned was that everyone learns differently. I want to adjust my teaching style to the student so that they may have the best chance at long-term success. I do not believe in giving out answers, instead, I want to guide the student in the right direction as they come up with the correct answer on their own.
A typical tutoring session with me involves covering sections of the subject that weren't fully understood. You can expect example problems and a homework review. These tutoring sessions are intended for first through eighth-grade students needing help in algebra, geometry, and arithmetic.
