About Jack
Hey! I'm Jack, a young graduate starting a PhD in September where I'll be looking at utilising computer models based on solar physics to predict events occurring in our sun. I completed my GCSEs in 2020 and A-levels in 2022, offering a fresh and recent perspective.
No two brains work the same way, as such, I will customise my teaching based on how you prefer, be it using visual examples, explaining things in different ways or working through different problems.

I'm a flexible teacher, focusing on understanding how students best process problems and tailoring my style to that. I start with a test to gauge the student's level, followed by a discussion of their answers and the areas they want to look at. This first session is free as it allows the student to decide if they like my teaching style, and it lasts an hour.
A lesson will last approximately an hour and consist of talking about their current week and going over anything new they have learnt, followed by targeting areas that they are currently struggling with, using example problems and techniques. I will then give the student a problem sheet to work on for our next session.
I am experienced with tutoring maths, having tutored a family friend for months. With my 1st class master's degree in computer science and applied mathematics, I am highly familiar with the topics covered in GCSE and A Level.
I am located in the Exeter Area and offer online tutoring sessions, or in person if it is preferred.
