About Favour
Hello! My name is Favour, and I am a dedicated Mathematics tutor committed to helping students unlock their full analytical potential. As a Computer Engineering (B.Eng) graduate, my academic foundation is rooted heavily in advanced mathematics, logical reasoning, and complex problem-solving. This background gives me a deep, comprehensive mastery of the subject, allowing me to teach mathematics not just as a set of rigid rules, but as a practical language that anyone can learn to speak fluently.
Beyond my technical qualifications, I bring a high level of professionalism, structure, and dependability to every single session. I understand that mathematics can often feel intimidating or overwhelming. Because of this, my teaching philosophy prioritizes patience, clarity, and absolute encouragement. I excel at identifying where a student’s foundational gaps lie and systematically filling those gaps to build lasting academic confidence.
Whether you are a junior student aiming to strengthen your basics, a senior student tackling complex algebraic equations, or a candidate determined to score exceptionally high in your WAEC and JAMB examinations, you can expect a highly organized, focused, and supportive learning environment. Together, we will transform mathematics from a source of stress into a tool for your academic success. Let's get started!

My Teaching Methodology & Approach:
Mathematics shouldn’t be learned through rigid memorization; it should be built on understanding. My approach relies on a Concepts over Formulas framework. Instead of just giving students a formula to memorize, I break down why the formula works and how it applies to real-world scenarios.
My lessons follow a structured, three-step technique:
1. The Simplified Breakdown: We strip away the intimidating jargon. I introduce the topic using practical, real-world analogies that relate to things students already understand.
2. Guided Practice (Step-by-Step): We solve problems together. I use an interactive whiteboard to map out every single line of working, encouraging the student to explain the next step to ensure they are actively following along.
3. Independent Validation: The student solves a live problem on their own while I observe. This builds immediate self-confidence and highlights any lingering gaps in understanding before the class ends.
I maintain a patient, encouraging, and pressure-free environment. There are no "silly questions" in my class; if a student doesn't get it the first time, we simply approach it from a different angle until it clicks.
Typical Length of a Lesson
60 to 90 Minutes: The standard lesson is 1 hour to 1.5 hours long.
This provides the optimal window to review previous concepts, introduce a new topic, solve multiple practice problems together, and answer questions without causing mental fatigue for the student.
Who My Lessons Are For
My classes are specifically designed for:
Junior Secondary School (JSS 1–3) Students: Building a rock solid foundation in algebra, fractions, and basic geometry to eliminate math anxiety early.
Senior Secondary School (SSS 1–3) Students: Deepening analytical skills and master core topics.
Exam Candidates: Intensive, targeted preparation for WAEC, JAMB, and NECO examinations, focusing heavily on past questions and time-management strategies.
My Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) Graduate: Holding a degree in Computer Engineering, I have spent years mastering advanced calculus, algebra, and applied mathematics. This background gives me a deep, fundamental understanding of numbers and problem-solving mechanics.
Experienced Peer Mentor & Tutor: I have a proven track record of breaking down complex engineering and technical concepts into easily digestible steps for peers and younger students. My technical background ensures I don't just teach students how to pass, I teach them how to think logically and analytically.
