About Alexandra
Hi! I’m a dedicated and approachable nursing tutor currently enrolled in Northeastern University’s Direct Entry Nursing (DEN) program. I graduated in May from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology, and I bring a strong academic foundation and real-world healthcare experience to every tutoring session. I currently work at Massachusetts General Hospital as a Patient Care Assistant (PCA), where I actively apply nursing principles in a fast-paced clinical setting. Before this, I worked for over 2.5 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in nursing homes and also have experience in home health, caring for patients in their own homes. These experiences have given me a well-rounded view of patient care across a variety of settings. Because I’ve recently completed many of the same nursing courses you’re working through—like Pharmacology, Pathophysiology, Med-Surg, and OB/Peds—I’m able to offer relevant, up-to-date guidance that aligns with current nursing school standards. I’ve earned straight A’s in my nursing coursework and use proven strategies that help students succeed in both the classroom and clinicals. Whether you’re preparing for exams, struggling with specific content, or just want support from someone who truly understands what nursing school is like right now—I’m here to help you succeed with personalized, practical tutoring you can trust.

My Approach as a Nursing Tutor
As a straight-A nursing student, I understand the challenges nursing school presents and the strategies that lead to academic success. My goal is to empower fellow nursing students with the confidence and clarity they need to excel.
Teaching Method & Techniques
I use a student-centered, supportive approach, tailoring each session to your learning style—whether you're a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner. I break down complex topics into manageable concepts, use real-life clinical scenarios to reinforce theory, and incorporate NCLEX-style questions to build test-taking confidence. Active recall, concept mapping, and critical thinking exercises are a regular part of my sessions.
Typical Lesson Plan
Each session starts with a quick review of previous content and your current needs. Then, we dive into a focused topic—such as pharmacology, pathophysiology, or care plans—using simplified explanations, practice questions, and discussion. At the end, we review key takeaways and create a brief study plan or action steps tailored to your goals.
What Sets Me Apart
I’m not just a high-performing student—I’ve been in your shoes and understand the pressure, the jargon, and the workload. I provide relatable insights, clear explanations, and practical strategies that actually work in nursing school. I also offer encouragement and accountability, helping you stay on track both academically and emotionally.
Who the Lessons Are For
My tutoring is ideal for pre-nursing and current nursing students at the associate or bachelor’s level. Whether you're struggling with fundamentals, preparing for the NCLEX, or just want to boost your GPA, I can help. Classes I specialize in include:
Fundamentals of Nursing
Pharmacology
Pathophysiology
Med-Surg
OB/Peds
Mental Health Nursing
Test Prep (HESI, ATI, NCLEX)
What Makes Me Unique as a Tutor
As a current nursing student who has recently completed many of the same courses you're taking now, I bring a fresh and relevant perspective to tutoring. I know exactly what today’s nursing programs expect, how exams are structured, and the common pitfalls students face—because I’ve just been through them myself.
Unlike tutors who may be far removed from the academic setting, I’m learning alongside you. That means my study methods, class notes, test prep strategies, and clinical experiences are current, practical, and directly aligned with today’s curriculum. I understand your challenges on a personal level, and I can offer up-to-date resources and firsthand insights that others might not be able to provide.
My recent success in courses like Med-Surg, Pharmacology, and OB/Peds means I’m not only familiar with the material—I’ve mastered it under the same pressures you’re facing. That makes me especially effective at helping students bridge the gap between theory and application.
