About Corliss
Hello! I’m Corliss.
I’m a 2025 IB graduate from Glenunga International High School and I am currently studying Veterinary Bioscience (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) at the University of Adelaide.
A bit about me:
- Achieved a 98.70 ATAR
- Achieved a 7 in IB Chemistry SL
- Achieved very high 6s in IB Biology SL (7 in Paper 2), IB Economics HL (7 in Paper 3), IB Maths AA SL
- Unconditional Veterinary Medicine offer from University of Queensland , Murdoch University, University of Adelaide
- Obtained the highest quartile in CASPer test (4th quartile)
I want to tutor students because I understand how challenging it can be to learn difficult content and how frustrating it is to spend a long time trying to grasp it. I was once in the same position, but along my high school journey, I discovered effective study techniques and exam strategies that really helped me. I want to share these with other students so they can build understanding and confidence, and achieve their personal best!
I am fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, so I can support students in whichever language they feel most comfortable with.

Regarding the lesson, my teaching style is student focused and organised, with an emphasis on understanding concepts properly rather than memorising content.
Every student learns differently, so I take time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, learning style, and goals. Lessons are personalised to each student’s learning pace and goals, ensuring they feel supported and are making real progress towards success.
Here is a brief lesson flow:
1. I will first Identify weaker areas and set clear learning goals
2. Then break concepts down into simple, manageable steps
3. Then further use examples, diagrams, and practice questions to check understanding
4. Work through exam-style questions together with guided feedback
5. Finish with a short recap, clear next steps, and out of lesson tasks to reinforce learning.
For IB students, I focus a lot on exam technique and how marks are actually awarded, including understanding markscheme wording and managing time effectively in exams. At the same time, I make sure students genuinely understand the content, so they feel confident applying their knowledge rather than just memorising answers. I can also provide IA support, including help with planning, structuring, and improving clarity of the work.
For Year 10 students and younger students, my focus is on building strong foundations, confidence, and genuine understanding of the content. I take time to make sure concepts actually make sense, rather than rushing through material, and I will also help students develop effective study habits so they feel well prepared for the senior years ahead.
For more specific details about each subject, please check my individual subject listings.
Regarding the Casper Test, I offer personalised CASPer test tutoring for students applying to competitive health and medical programs. Having achieved the highest quartile (4th quartile) myself, I understand exactly what assessors are looking for and how to approach the test strategically and confidently.
My tutoring focuses on:
-Breaking down different CASPer question types
-Developing clear and balanced ethical reasoning
-Improving response structure and clarity under timed conditions -Practising real-style scenarios with detailed feedback
-Building confidence for both written and video responses
