About Shivansh
I understand how intimidating finance can feel - the complex terms, the equations that never seem to add up, that sinking feeling when everyone else appears to grasp concepts faster than you. That's exactly why I've built my teaching approach around making finance click for real people. This might be difficult to grasp. I started teaching when I was in high school. Once my math teacher asked me to come up to the board, solve the question, and explain it. I myself am a slow learner, but when I learn a concept then I can explain it to a kindergarten student because that's how I break it down for myself. So, surprisingly, when I explained my reasoning in front of my peers, everyone took a liking to my teaching style. Even my math teacher. This is when I fell in love with teaching. You can say that my favorite hobby is to make a struggling student go 'Aha! I got this now, it was so simple'. I know learning happens best when: • Concepts are broken into bite-sized pieces that actually make sense • Mistakes are welcomed as part of the process (we'll work through them together) • Lessons connect directly to what matters in your exams or career • You feel comfortable asking "basic" questions without judgment My background as a Lead Financial Analyst and academic honoree means I can translate high-level concepts into lessons that work for real learners. As a tutor, I believe finance should be both accessible and engaging, not just theoretical. That's why my teaching method focuses on practical applications and use cases. A typical session starts with a quick recap of prior material, followed by a deep dive into a topic (such as valuation techniques or financial modeling) using visuals, analogies, and guided discussions. We then apply the lesson through exercises, whether analyzing a company’s financial statements or building a discounted cash flow model to improve understanding. Interacting with students, learning about their motivations, and helping them achieve what they want in life is a major driving force behind my teachings. I tailor each lesson to the student’s level, whether they’re a beginner needing fundamentals or an advanced learner preparing for certifications like the CFA. My lessons are ideal for university students tackling finance courses, professionals preparing for interviews or career transitions, and self-driven learners looking to sharpen their investing or analytical skills. Beyond live sessions, I provide supplemental resources, including Excel templates, curated readings, and my Medium articles, to support continuous learning. My goal isn’t just to teach finance but to build confidence in using it effectively, whether for exams or career growth.
