About Claire
Hi! I’ve always been intrigued by how math works and love helping others understand not just the “how,” but the “why” behind it. I started tutoring my younger sister and her friends when I was growing up, and in college, I naturally became the go-to person when friends needed help breaking down tough problems. I don’t consider myself a know-it-all, but to me, math feels like a scattered puzzle—once you find the pieces, it all fits together. My dad was amazing at math, and I learned a lot just by watching and learning from him over the years. That foundation helped shape how I approach problems and explain them to others. I went to boarding school for high school, took AP Calculus BC, and later graduated with honors from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree. I enjoy teaching in a way that’s clear, flexible, and tailored to how you learn best. It’s totally okay if something doesn’t make sense the first time—some problems are challenging for everyone, even me. But whether we go over the same concept five or ten times, I believe once you grasp the core idea, you’ll feel confident tackling any variation of it.

I aced Algebra and Geometry like a breeze and went all the way up to AP Calculus BC in high school. Even college-level stats came easily to me. Math is like a puzzle and once you see the way out of it, it actually makes it fun & is oddly satisfying.
I believe there’s more than one way to solve a problem, so I teach based on how you understand things. Whether you’re a visual learner, need step-by-step guidance, or just want someone to explain it in a way that makes sense to you, I’ve got you!
