Some mathematicians believe in teaching math the way it was originally developed: the hard way. Every problem-solving technique must be earned from these teachers, and short-cuts can only be won through painful discovery. This method includes a steep learning curve for the student, who must use theory to solve problems before understanding either the theory or the techniques, and it can be frustrating. (I know! This is how I was taught!)

I'd rather teach math the smart way, by using all of the tips and tricks that mathematicians have already amassed to understand and solve problems. Understanding the theory comes naturally after you've seen it in action. We'll use one of humanity's strongest abilities--pattern recognition--to sort problems into categories for which we have step-by-step solution method. Before you know it, you'll be solving problems so quickly that you'd swear there's magic at work.

I'm available to teach all levels of math beginning with pre-algebra and continuing through undergraduate college courses.
