About Angie
My name is Angie, i want to teach fine art to give young artists or potential artists an opportunity to really get to know art. I love giving my friends, whom also study the same fine art course as me, advice on their paintings, essays and their ideas. I extremely enjoy being able to understand what my friends are telling me they want to create or write, and being able to put it into words for them or give them more ideas to strengthen their theme or style.

I started A level art without any main skills at styles or media. Studying fine art as an A level hasn’t just been drawing and painting, it has consisted of learning compositions, artists styles and what their styles mean and how it contributes to their artwork, learning to create art from observation and create art with the intent of giving it a meaning. Art can be expressive, unique and interesting. A few skills i’ve learnt from my A level course have been understanding correct colour analysis, meaning that colours may not be the colours you think you are looking at. For example, you may be painting a landscape from observation and you are starting on an area with trees and foliage. Depending on the lighting, angle and the texture, some leaves may not be green. They could be grey or white or brown or even black. I’ve learnt to understand how artists depict light and use light to their advantages. I’ve also learnt how to make a piece more compositionally pleasing. Focal points and leading lines can be very important especially within mundane pieces. I learnt to enjoy art and to see it much more than just art.
