About Oscar

After attending preparatory classes at Sainte-Geneviève and now studying at HEC Paris, I grew up with mathematics in a rather unique way: my father is a mathematics professor and teaches in the second year of the CPGE (Preparatory Classes for the Grandes Écoles) in Advanced Mathematics. He is the one who, from the very beginning, passed on his teaching methods and his approach to mathematics to me—an approach I haven't found anywhere else and which I now pass on to my students. For me, mathematics is not a subject to be memorized, but a discipline of reasoning: we only retain what we have truly understood. What matters most to me is creating a relaxed and supportive atmosphere with each student. I am convinced that we only truly progress in mathematics when we stop enduring it and begin to appreciate it—and this begins with a relationship of trust, without unnecessary pressure, where the student feels free to make mistakes.

About the lesson

A math enthusiast since high school, I completed my preparatory course in advanced mathematics (ECG) before joining the Grande École Program at HEC Paris. This demanding path taught me one thing above all: progress in math isn't a matter of natural talent, but of method and consistency. It's this method that I now try to pass on to my students. I always structure my lessons in the same way: Understanding the material in depth: we revisit definitions and theorems, not to memorize them, but to understand their logic and usefulness. Reinforcing automaticity: application exercises so that basic techniques become second nature. Moving to the next level: more complex exercises that draw on several concepts simultaneously—the kind that truly allow students to stand out on test day. I place great importance on the rigor of written work.
