About Rabiah

I am a psychology undergraduate student at one of the top 10 universities in the UK.

I am a confident and driven individual and aspire to always bring the best out of my students.

I am passionate about teaching because of my outside of the box thinking. I often teach students what I wish I knew and was taught during my GCSE and A-levels. From experience I know that learning is as much about motivation and mental strategies than understanding and memorising.

I like applying psychology to my everyday understanding of humans. This means I am creative in my teaching style and as a person. I like to find the best strategies for learning.

One of my favorite hobbies is to travel. So far I have visited various cities such as Rome, Milan, Venice, Amsterdam, Dubai, Istanbul and Jhelum in Pakistan.

What does this mean?
This means that I focus on tailoring my lessons to student needs. This is based on feedback from parents, assessments that I take in lessons and the students knowledge of their strengths and weaknesses.

This approach has worked and shown great results for students at all levels and ages.

I am a tutor that truly cares and believes in building a professional and stable relationship with my students. I look to make them feel welcome and comfortable enough to ask questions - however small or repetitive - at any time. I prioritize this to ensure that the student-tutor setting is at its optimal where learning happens best.

What does an average lesson look like?
We will begin by reviewing what was covered in the last session and discussing what areas need to be covered in this lesson (this can also be discussed outside of the lesson to save time), if there is nothing in particular, I will use resources available to myself to create a lesson based on the subject. This will work as an assessment to see which areas need to be worked on and we follow from there.

Lessons can vary from 50 minutes to an hour an 30 minutes including a short 5 minute break.

I have 3 years experience teaching English, Psychology and 11plus English and Maths including verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
