My teaching methodology consists of 6 main concepts:
1) Get to know my student’s way of learning
2) Tailor each lesson structure to their learning style and what topics they want to cover
3) Repeat what is learnt in each class to ensure they can recall each topic covered in the past
4) Mini quizzes after covering specific topics
5) Providing access to quizlets or hand-made notes if needed (can be made for student, but prices varies for handmade notes tailored for each student)
Such concepts are used to ensure that each student has a thorough understanding of each topic and can apply it readily in exam situations.
I believe it is important for students to be apply use their knowledge to their own day-to-day life. This is so that they understand how such knowledge can be useful for them in society.
I also believe it is essential that students don’t just memorise the topics as they will not effectively comprehend tricky questions in the exams. Memorisation should only be used as a last resort for last minute studying.
I encourage students to not be able afraid to make mistakes, as each mistake is a new learning experience. You only get better at what you know when you practise again and again!
