About Jason
My name is Jason, which means "the healer" in Greek. And like a healer, I see myself as healing the root causes of the educational ills that hinder learning. My passion for philosophy and history fueled an inner drive to study these disciplines, which I had previously pursued in my free time, and now to share them with others. I have always wanted to "understand what holds the world together at its core," and the idea of understanding myself and my environment as historical subjects and objects has never ceased to fascinate me.

My teaching is primarily tailored to the specific wishes and needs of the student. For this reason, the first lesson is dedicated solely on determining the wishes the student has at my lessons. Traditional lectures are deliberately replaced by (inter)active learning, not least because this is more appropriate for the subject. I can be particularly helpful with argument analysis, logic, essay writing, and text interpretation (including literary texts). I also offer the opportunity to explore philosophical inquiry as a creative intellectual activity, alongside philosophy as an academic discipline, and to practice this through dialogue based on concrete questions. The goal is not only the acquisition of knowledge but also the cultivation of a love of wisdom, in keeping with the principles of philosophy, and an understanding of the relevance of philosophy in everyday life. Currently, my studies are focused on Hegel's philosophy, and this will most likely extend to German Idealism; therefore, dedicated units on this topic are also possible. In history, I offer support with source-critical and question-oriented, interconnected thinking (for example: "How did World War I come about?"). If desired, I am also available to discuss the topic of literary writing (knowledge derived from my own work).
