About Ailish
I'm a a freshman at Skidmore College who loves to read, write, and teach. I have previous experience working with learners on the autism spectrum and with learning disabilities. While I highly prioritize academic progress, I also pay a lot of attention to my students' internal relationship with academics, so while productivity is important, so is creating an encouraging and enjoyable learning environment.

It's important to me to have a good relationship with my students, so all lessons will include a fun game or conversation (depending on the student's preference) before we dive into work. As for the academic portion of the lesson, I can easily tailor my teaching methods and techniques to best fit the individual student's learning style, as I'm well aware that what works for one student might not work for another. Lessons will not consist of work the entire way through, but instead will include short breaks in order to maintain stamina throughout the session. Finally, lessons will end with some sort of short activity of the student's preference. I'd love to teach elementary school students of any ability in need of some extra help with reading and English.
