Psychology

A student studying a degree in Psychology at the University of Sussex. Teaching is aimed at GCSE/A-level Psychology. I gained an 'A' in Psychology at A-level and have experience in teaching.

About Alexandra

-Despite, my experience not being in my chosen subject, I feel I could really help others study and achieve success, as well as individuals helping me throughout the course of my degree.

- Not only do I feel passionate about Psychology as a subject, but I am enthusiastic about helping those strive, and really enjoy interacting with others.

-I study at the University of Sussex, which has produced a great amount of research in the Psychological field, with the current topic being on the effects of kindness. Whilst at University I have partaken in several ongoing studies, from cognitive activity to the topic of emotions, which have further helped me with my studies.

- In the future I have aspirations of becoming a Psychiatrist in the Military helping those who suffer with PTSD. Alternatively, I would like to help those who have suffered brain injuries which has effected their emotions and behaviour.

About the lesson

-I adapt lessons based on the individuals needs and what they would like help with. Whether it's with revision techniques, learning content, essay writing skills to assist with learning aids, I am here to help.

-My lessons are aimed at those studying GCSE/A-level Psychology (ages 14-18).

-The typical length of a lesson will be approximately 45 minutes long but may be a little longer to ensure the session content is completed.

-I may set little tasks between each session to help revise the information from each lesson.

-I like to start with a little quiz on the topic in hand to gage what level of understanding the individual is at.

-Following this I will go through a prepared lesson and be ready to answer any questions the students has.

-I like to add small activities to keep the student engage and embed information to ensure the individual is gaining what they want from the session.

-In terms of my qualifications I gained an 'A'- in A-level Psychology and am now studying it at University. Therefore, I am able to go
through things I have and am currently studying.

-My tutoring experience stems from teaching lessons in the Army Cadet Force, I used to make lesson plans and present lessons to other cadets through my cadet career as well as going through two teaching courses.
