About Alyaan
I'm a 10th grade student in the IB program, my strengths are math, science, French and history. Outside of school I am in scouts as a volunteer for the younger groups and a participant as well. My math and science grades last year were both extending, which outside of BC mean an A. I am an outgoing person, I can easily adjust to change and I love meeting and interacting with new people. I hope to bring the best out of you guys.

I believe in straightforward, active teaching and patience. My lessons combine short explanations with step-by-step problem solving, practice questions, and real-life examples to help students connect concepts to practical use. I encourage students to ask questions freely and guide them toward independent problem-solving skills. My lesson starts with a warmup or review, once that is clear I explain a new concept, even if its not clear i try some guided practice as hands on learning allows students for a better understanding, then they try by themselves, question are always welcome. Finally I ask them what they have learnt, to see if more time is needed to grasp the concept. I’m an IB student myself, so I understand the current curriculum, exam formats, and struggles students face.
I can provide custom notes, practice sheets, and strategies tailored to each learner. I focus on building critical thinking, not just solving problems, so students can feel more intuitive with their learning. These lessons are for students from grade 5-9 in Canada who are wishing to excel in Math and Science.
