About Joseph

My name is Joe and I am a third year undergraduate music student at the University of Manchester. I achieved an A* at A Level History and a Grade 9 at GCSE History. I absolutely love learning about it and sharing all my historical knowledge with the next generation of Historians! For the next two years, I will be undertaking my Master of Music at the Royal Northern College of Music on the violin. I have a wealth of musical experience from over a decade performing and learning both the violin and composition, as well as privately teaching music theory and holding administrative positions including the Head Concert Manager of the University's Music Society. I have undertaken work experience numerous times as part of schools' music departments. I have completed a university module working in a different primary school and teaching children with a range of ages and spent 3 months of 2025 working as a Camp Counsellor to a residential children's camp in Illinois, USA, teaching a range of subjects from music, history and art to archery and drama!

At the forefront of my teaching philosophy is that it has to be accessible and enjoyable in order to learn!

Personal approach, focusing on what you want to get from lessons as well as ensuring knowledge is learnt and remembered in variety of ways. Lessons typically 45mins-1hr. All ages and levels. I want to make History a fun and real topic.
