About Jennifer
Hi, this is Jennifer Z. Luo! I graduated from Macleans College in 2024, and am currently studying the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch), an undergraduate degree at Auckland University. I am excellence endorsed in ADE, APA, and DVC. Being excellence endorsed in level 1-3, first in DVC in Macleans College in year 12, I can offer recent insight into the portfolio process and NCEA subjects. Having served as a school prefect, service captain, and Head of Art Club, I aim to be patient and look at understanding from different perspectives. I see value in bringing out the abilities of an individual and sharing my passion for the subjects!
Current Achievements : First year Design Studio (architecture) A+ (First equal), Level 3 Art design , ADE / level 3 Art painting , APA / level 3 Design and Visual Communication DVC
Open to teaching NCEA design, painting, DVC, and much more.
Open to tutoring first year architecture as well.

I can draw from tailored lesson plans and tutorials held as the Head of Art club. This also includes offering advice and holding discussions with students and teachers alike.
Teaching methodology
- We can adjust the lessons from learning foundational skills to more personalised projects. This could be perspective drawing to portfolio process/designs.
- Learning through examples and past successful cases (visual)
- Working with a range of media to find ideas, this could be physical or digital collaging, watercolour, charcoal, and sketching.
For building my architecture portfolio and working on the 3 design subjects (NCEA / NZQA), I have primarily used :
- Photoshop (Ps), Illustrator, and InDesign
- Sketchup
Rendering
-D5, V-Ray
Secondary:
- Enscape
- Rhino
Guidance into…
I can look back on my experience for help with written applications. We could work towards preparation for university architecture portfolios and improvements for NCEA/NZQA design portfolios.
I am also happy to offer guidance and assistance on focusing on passion projects, extra-curricular or recreational activities!

I’ve known Jennifer as a classmate and good friend, and we’ve worked closely together in design. She’s extremely hardworking and resilient. She never gives up and keeps pushing until she achieves what she wants, whether it’s for design work or class projects.
Jennifer has a very strong and trustworthy character. She is honest, dependable, and always follows through on what she says she will do. You can rely on her to stay focused, stay calm, and handle pressure without giving up. She respects everyone she works with and treats people fairly, which makes it easy to trust her both personally and academically.
She is also incredibly supportive and helpful. Jennifer explains ideas in a way that is easy to understand and takes the time to make sure you actually get the concept. She checks in on others, asks if they need help, and encourages them to keep trying even when the work gets hard. If someone is struggling, she stays patient and helps them step by step. She’s creative, organised, and always willing to share tips, techniques, or feedback to help others improve.
Because of her strong character, supportive nature, and commitment to helping others succeed, I strongly recommend her as a tutor.I highly recommend Jennifer for the tutoring position. She demonstrated exceptional leadership while leading the school’s art club and consistently showcased outstanding artistic skills. She is also mentally strong, resilient, and dependable, making her an excellent role model for younger learners.
