I understand that tutoring can be daunting for students at times, and that it is necessary for students to feel comfortable with their tutor to ensure they can get the most out of their sessions. In order to help students feel more in control I have found that spending 10-15 minutes in the first session getting to know each other has been extremely helpful.
In my previous teaching experience, maths GCSE and biology A-Level, I have found that targeting student's weakest areas was the most successful way to boost students grades. I will always prioritise the student and the specific aspects they wish to target whilst also giving my personal opinion on areas students tend to struggle with.
Throughout my studies and tutoring, working through past papers and past questions has been the most effective form of revision and practice, for UCAT, interview practice or specific subject tutoring.
