About Gabriela

I have been giving private lessons for 15 years after living in Europe, Russia, America and many other continents. I studied arts, fashion, marketing, theatre and languages abroad. I have a degree in languages and fashion design. I have worked in the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Mexico teaching languages. I lived in Russia where I worked as a teacher of ballet, piano, violin and languages. After this experience, I returned to Mexico where I opened my Academy of Arts and Languages. I have a diploma in languages and pedagogy in education. I am a Spanish teacher for several private organisations preparing for business school exams. In 2019, among the 180 students I followed throughout the year in weekly classes or during intensive internships during the holidays, the rate of candidates eligible for oral and written tests validated the objectives expected by them. As part of the courses given in preparatory school, I had the opportunity to travel to Lille, Bordeaux, Aix en Provence, Toulouse, Angers and Lyon. This opportunity allowed me to have a more precise perspective of the French socio-cultural and economic landscape, of the differences between regions and social backgrounds, a perspective that I can relate to Spanish-speaking cultures. I also help high school and college students to improve their average and prepare them for the oral and written Bac. Indeed, just in 2019, among the twenty students from the L, ES and S streams that I followed throughout the year in weekly support or during intensive internships during the holidays, all of them obtained their Bac with honours. Thanks to my mastery of languages, I was able to give private lessons in Germany and in France for German, English or French beginners but also for more advanced students from the 6th to the preparatory classes for the grandes écoles. Convinced that perfect mastery of the language is not the only guarantee for offering quality courses, I trained as a teacher of Spanish as a foreign language at the Cervantes Institute.

My methodology is based on the way we learnt our mother tongue, in a simple, assimilative and intuitive way. I am supported by materials such as books, podcasts, online exercises, audios, movies, series, among other resources approved by the Mexican, French, English, Italian, Russian and German Consulate. The best way to assimilate a language is not only to understand and learn grammar, but to understand culture, since we are our culture, our tradition and our history, this is how our language is created. My methodology depends on the objective of each student, their abilities, their level of assimilation and their cultural and grammatical digestion. I can say from my experience and the achievement of the objectives of more than 3000 students that today I am 100% satisfied with my work and the results obtained. If you want to return to a renowned school, we will work on a written or recorded article which will cover political, economic, social or cultural subjects of the Spanish-American world. Then, I would introduce you to each one of the specificities by country and by region, and I would teach you a method to be very effective. Because the jury is waiting for you to offer them a summary of the main ideas of the article, but also a comment and a personal opinion. If it is a question of increasing the average of Spanish by learning the concepts related to the programme of the Bac (MYTHS and HEROES, PLACES and FORMS OF POWER, SPACES AND EXCHANGES, THE IDEA OF PROGRESS), we will develop a learning programme focused on the student's shortcomings. As I also help people who want to learn the language out of envy, if you need to acquire a lexicon related to your field of activity, we will organise role plays and situational sessions. After a short level test we will determine together your learning objectives (academic, professional or leisure context). I also organise conversation sessions to encourage you, sessions for adults who lose their fluency due to a lack of regular practice. One hour lessons via Skype can be increased at a price of 65 euros per session, depending on my availability.
