About Somi
I am a committed piano tutor with more than 9+ years of teaching experience, working with students from school, college, and professional backgrounds. I am passionate about helping students learn piano in a structured, engaging, and meaningful way.
My teaching methodology focuses on patience, clear communication, and personalised instruction. I assess each student’s level, goals, and learning style, and create lessons that build strong fundamentals like finger technique, rhythm, hand coordination, and note reading. I also teach music theory, ear training, and rhythm exercises to provide a comprehensive understanding of music.
My lessons are interactive and creative, often including songs, improvisation, and practical exercises to make learning fun and rewarding. I specialise in simplifying complex concepts and guiding students to develop consistency, discipline, and confidence in their practice.
My ultimate goal is to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel motivated to reach their full musical potential and enjoy every step of their piano journey.

Creativity is central to my approach. Students are encouraged to improvise, compose, and explore various musical styles, helping them develop originality, confidence, and self-expression. Flexibility ensures lessons are tailored to the student’s pace, skill level, and learning style, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.
Alongside piano, I teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. This methodology strengthens technical mastery, expressive skills, and musical understanding. My aim is to cultivate confident, creative, and lifelong musicians.
