About Eva

I am a patient, supportive, and dedicated tutor who is passionate about helping students succeed in math and build confidence in their abilities. I understand that math can feel stressful or overwhelming for many students, so I focus on creating a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
I take the time to explain concepts clearly and step-by-step, making sure students truly understand the material instead of simply memorizing formulas. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them become more confident and independent learners.
I am familiar with the Alberta math curriculum and understand the expectations, question styles, and common challenges students face in middle school and high school math courses. I am reliable, organized, and committed to helping each student reach their academic goals through personalized support and consistent encouragement.

About the lesson

I believe that every student can succeed in math when concepts are explained clearly and patiently. My tutoring approach focuses on building understanding step-by-step instead of just memorizing formulas. I break difficult concepts into smaller, manageable parts and use examples, visuals, and practice questions to help students fully understand the material before moving on.
A typical lesson starts with reviewing previous concepts and identifying any areas of confusion. Then, I teach the new topic through guided examples and walk students through problem-solving strategies step-by-step. After that, students practice questions independently while I provide support, corrections, and tips to improve confidence and accuracy. I also include review strategies and test-taking techniques to help students prepare for quizzes and exams.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my patient and supportive teaching style. I understand that many students feel overwhelmed or nervous about math, so I focus on creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions. I explain concepts in multiple ways until they make sense and adapt lessons to each student’s learning style and pace.
My lessons are designed for middle school and high school students, including students taking Alberta curriculum math courses such as Math 10C, Math 20-1. Lessons are especially helpful for students who want to improve their grades, strengthen foundational skills, prepare for tests, or gain more confidence in math overall.
