About Savanah
Hi there! I taught second and third grade for nine years, and one thing I’ve always loved as a teacher and as a student is math. I even considered continuing my own degree program in a math-focused direction because of how much I enjoy problem-solving and numbers. During my years in the classroom, my students consistently grew in their skills across all subjects, and their progress showed not only in everyday learning but also in their state test scores. I’m very goal-oriented and like to use data to track growth, but at the heart of it, I care most about helping students feel confident and capable. As your tutor, I’ll bring patience, encouragement, and plenty of strategies to make tricky concepts click. I truly believe every student can succeed when they’re given the right support — and I’d love to help you reach your goals in math.

Math can feel overwhelming when a concept just won’t click, and that’s where I come in. I work with students to identify the specific areas where they’re struggling and create strategies to help them truly understand. Instead of only repeating the same explanations, I focus on finding new ways to present material so that it connects in the student’s brain - whether that’s through practice, visuals, or breaking a problem into smaller steps.
My goal is not only to help students solve problems, but also to build confidence and independence in their math skills. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons to fit their pace and style. With patience, encouragement, and plenty of practice, I help turn difficult concepts into manageable ones, step by step.
