About Surlonia
Hello! My name is Surlonia. I have been working in education as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher since 2014, supporting students in the classroom and helping them better understand their lessons.
Students I work with in person often come to me when they need help understanding their schoolwork because they know I am patient and supportive. I enjoy helping students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their learning.
I am currently a student at Grand Canyon University working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. My goal is to help students understand math and develop strong academic skills in a positive learning environment.

My lessons are designed to help students understand math in a way that is clear and supportive. This way, they will not just memorize answers but also learn how math works.
My lessons will cover homework, practice problems, and test preparation. Moreover, my goal is to help students become more confident so they will not be afraid to ask questions and improve.
As a paraprofessional and substitute teacher since 2014, I have learned to be flexible in dealing with different learning styles and to go at each student’s own pace.
My goal is to make math less stressful and to help students take pride in what they do.
